Hey Horst,
My name is Brad. I live in Vancouver. Great photos!

Say, I have a couple questions about one of your photos. The photo is of a large sailboat off, what I believe is, Bowen Island.
This is the link to it:

1. Is that photo taken off Bowen Island?
2. Do you happen to know the name of that boat?
I’m wondering if it is named Black Eyes, a 62 footer.

Hello,

I was surfing flicr for Deka lake photos, and came across your pictures. From the photos, I think I may be your new neighbour…..I have a lot on Clearview, just as you turn off Macabar,with a tiny trailer. Anyway, I really enjoyed the winter photos…I’m not ready to travel up in the winter just yet!!

This is a response to Brad, in case you have not heard back from Horst. Yes, the boat in Deep Bay is the “Black Eyes”. It has anchored there since 1994. What is your connection to the boat?

Greeting from your old Bowen Island friends

Hi Horst & Anne

We came across your blog after googling your name — just out of curiosity!

You are looking well and haven’t changed a bit it would seem.

We are now living in Kingston Ontario, as well as Rowan, who moved here last summer, after traveling around the world. He and his spouse, Aurora, just gave birth to their first child (our first grandchild) on Oct 6th.

We still miss Bowen Island, and the wonderful friends we made, although we are also very happy with our life as it eventually turned out.

Please send us your email address, so we can get back in touch, and catch up with new adventures, etc, while we walk down memory lane.
